Rome Termini’s railway station sees 500.000 passengers passing by its hall everyday, compared to the 25.000 residents in its adjacent neighborhood Esquilino. A paradox that can be easily explained by its “atopos” status, a place of transit, where most people stay just for a short time. Therefore, the few residents who live here are precious eyewitnesses of changes most people don’t notice.
